2008 QIA STAR Award Categories
The ten categories for 2008 are:
Teaching, training and learning practitioner
Open to lecturers, tutors or other teaching staff who excel in teaching and inspire, motivate and encourage learners to succeed.
Skills for Life
Open to lecturers, tutors or other skills for life teaching or support staff who excel in the teaching of literay, language or numeracy and inspire, motivate and encourage learners to succeed.
Response to learners' needs
Open to individuals or teams who provide programmes to meet the needs of specific groups of learners or communities.
Engaging employers
Open to individuals or teams who provide programmes to meet the needs of employers.
Workforce development
Open to individuals or teams who provide programmes to develop the workforce of their own organisation.
Support role
Open to individuals in a non-teaching role who support the effective operation of the organisation.
Learning support
Open to individuals who provide learning support.
Leadership
Open to any individual who has demonstrated high leadership skills and practice and inspires, motivate and leads others.
Innovation
Open to any individual who has demonstrated high levels of innovation and creativity.
Lifetime achievement
Open to any individual whose work in the further education system has consistently had a positive impact on the lives of learners and colleagues.
