Linda Ham
Winner of the award for outstanding leadership, Linda Ham leads the Estates Team at Alton College in Hampshire, where she has transformed the way in which caretakers and cleaning staff serve the organisation.
Under Linda's direction the Estates Team has managed to maintain the quality and attractiveness of Alton College's campus, despite several major building projects. Linda is extremely committed to achieving high standards and works tirelessly to provide clear and positive leadership. Her success is a shining example of distributed leadership at work.
Alton College achieved 'outstanding' in all five areas that were inspected by OfSTED in May 2006 and the report made reference to the high quality of the campus and its facilities. Many students also cite this as their reason for choosing Alton College.
Linda proposes to use her STARlight funding to undergo a digital photography course and to purchase a digital camera with accessories and Photoshop software. The camera would be useful to keep a pictorial record of site developments, to catalogue assets and for training and presentation purposes.
