Oliver Tindall
Winner of the award for outstanding innovation, Oliver Tindall is a student support manager at Castle College, part of the Sheffield College, and is responsible for creating an enterprise culture across the whole college.
Oliver has successfully changed the culture at Castle College by introducing a range of activities, resources and programmes to embed enterprise as part of the core curriculum. Oliver has done an outstanding job in encouraging entrepreneurship amongst the students, giving them the skills to become the new business leaders our economy needs.
Oliver's work has changed the lives of students who have gone on to become business entrepreneurs and set up their own businesses. Oliver says that it was an honour to be nominated for a STAR award and to win was overwhelming.
Oliver proposes to use his STARlight funding to purchase three Microsoft Self-Study kits and attend a two-day course on HTML web design to improve on his existing knowledge and enable him to train learners setting up their own businesses. He would also like to replace his existing home PC so that it is compatible with software systems used at the college.
