Work-based learning sector
The work-based learning sector includes all companies and organisations, which encourage employees to learn while they earn.
Qualifications include Modern Apprenticeships, for those aged 16 to 24, as well as NVQs and GNVQs. These work-based, competence qualifications are obtained through a demonstration of skills on a rising band of five levels. They are open to anyone of any age who wants to obtain a nationally recognised vocational qualification and are available in almost every practical level of employment from agriculture to vehicle maintenance.
Who is eligible within this sector?
Any employee who has been given learning and training opportunities within a company may nominate those who have helped to deliver the company's learning and training programmes for a QIA STAR Award. This includes fellow employees.
