Sparkle Auditions

Perform at the 2009 STAR Awards national ceremony

We are searching for a variety of talented learners to provide showcases for the dazzling national STAR Awards ceremony on 26 November 2009.

Organised and funded by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), the STAR Awards honour the unsung heroes who work in the further education, learning and skills sector.

Whatever the talent, anyone in the further education, learning and skills sector can enter their showcase. If you know learners with a dynamic skill or a perfected performance, whether it is technical, musical, sporting, practical or artistic, we want to hear from them.

Last year's winners, students from Reynolds Performing Arts, opened the 2008 national ceremony with a high energy mixed group Latin dance performance, setting the stage alight with their quick moves and technical content. Among the runners up were students from Wigan and Leigh College who entertained the guests with a vibrant fashion show displaying their Year 1 National Diploma fashion and clothing skirt designs.

The Sparkle Auditions winners will showcase on the main stage at the glittering awards ceremony in Old Billingsgate, London, on 26 November in front of an audience of 500 guests, and receive the Sparkle Auditions trophy. Runners up will also perform at the event.

It's simple - and free - to enter the Sparkle Auditions. All you need to do is record a 60-second clip of your showcase or take up to four photographs and forward them to us via the entry form below. If you would like to request a Sparkle Auditions entry pack containing posters, entry forms and further information, please contact us.

The deadline for entry is 25 September 2009.
